Opinion from Angered Youth In Juvi
I think this supposed new "improved" justice system for kids is just too easy on youth offenders that haven't offended before. The kids who have a good background get off easy because they don't have past history with the police and they lived a good "childhood" without beatings and neglect, they get a slap on a wrist and a "don't do that again". While we, the kids who've had a bad background, get stuck in jail and a criminal record. Sure, we get counselling about why its bad what we did and how it affected the community, then they let us out when were done our sentence but they plop us right back into the same environment as before hoping we've changed and wont be affected by the same lures to re-offend.
